A city built to be walked
Ciudad Porta Norte is a 260-hectare urban development in North Panama, conceived by Grupo Colonias as a community to live, work and walk in. Its master plan was designed by Andrés Duany and DPZ CoDesign, the urbanists behind the New Urbanism movement.
The result is a human-scale city: walkable streets, mixed uses and public spaces at the center of daily life — the opposite of a car-dependent suburb. It's the difference between building houses and building a city.
A city planned in decades, not quarters
Unlike a one-off project, Porta Norte is a city planned for the long term. Grupo Colonias doesn't just develop: it governs and stewards the project over time, ensuring urban quality holds as the city grows.
For an investor or developer, that means an environment with clear rules, planned infrastructure and appreciation backed by a long-term vision and a track record of over 40 years building in Panama.
