Who we are and what this notice covers
Grupo Colonias is responsible for the processing of the personal data collected through this website, grupocolonias.com. Our office is at Torre 50, Floor 1, San Francisco, Panama City. You can write to us at info@grupocolonias.com or call us at (507) 202-3333.
This notice covers this website only. The websites of our projects —portanorte.com and paar.com.pa— are operated separately and have their own privacy policies: if you follow a link to them from here, each site's own policy applies.
What data we process
This website has no forms and sets no cookies of its own. We process two kinds of data.
a) Site usage data, in aggregate form
We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand how the site is used and how fast it loads. These tools record page views, country, device and browser type, the referrer you arrived from, and anonymous click events such as “email click” or “WhatsApp click”. They do not use cookies, do not identify individuals and do not store your IP address.
b) Data you send us
When you choose to write to us by email, call us or contact us on WhatsApp, we receive what you give us: your name, your contact details and the content of your message.
What we use this data for
- Answering your enquiries and following up on them.
- Measuring how the site is used.
- Improving the site and its performance.
The basis for processing is your consent, when you choose to write to us, and our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the site.
Who it is shared with
We do not sell personal data. The following third parties are involved:
- Vercel Inc. — hosting for the site and the analytics tools; operates from the United States.
- Esri — provides the map imagery shown on the site; when it loads, your browser connects to their servers.
- Meta / WhatsApp — only if you choose to write to us on WhatsApp; in that case the conversation takes place on their platform and is governed by their own terms.
International transfer: these providers operate outside Panama, so the processing may involve transferring data to other countries.
How long we keep it
The messages you send us are kept for as long as the enquiry or the relationship with us lasts. Analytics data is aggregate and is kept according to the provider's retention periods.
Your rights
Panama's Law 81 of 2019 on the Protection of Personal Data, and its regulation, Executive Decree 285 of 2021, grant you the following rights over your personal data:
- Access: to know what data of yours we process.
- Rectification: to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Cancellation: to ask us to delete it.
- Objection: to object to a particular use of your data.
- Portability: to receive your data and take it to another controller.
To exercise them, write to us at info@grupocolonias.com stating which right you wish to exercise. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may turn to Panama's National Authority for Transparency and Access to Information (ANTAI).
